  Ladakh Mountaineering

Ladakh  is mountaineers delight with numerous mountain ranges all across the region. Mountain climbing and trekking are physically demanding and medical facilities are very limited in the remote areas of Ladakh. You must certify that you are in good health as part of the expedition.

We would like to offer you an opportunity to share in an adventure that captures the essence of the mountaineering experience. Too often mountaineering is judged by success or failure, were the mountain is "conquered" or a climber is "defeated". More perceptively the mountain is eternally victorious and a climber who has tested himself physically, emotionally and spiritually will always come away from the experience fulfilled.

Foreign climbing expeditions are required to obtain permission from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation for climbing a peak. A booking fee, based on the height and popularity of the allotted peak is charged and a Liaison Officer is assigned to every climbing team. The minimum period required for processing applications is six months.
